Our Services
Rehabilitation Trimming
Rehabilitation trimming starts at $80 and will be subject to change once the horse has reached the maintenance phase. Rehabilitation includes laminitis, excess growth and long cycles.
Horses on cycles longer than 6 weeks will stay at $70 per horse. We will not trim horses outside of an 8-week cycle.
Maintainence Trimming
Maintenance trimming is $65 per horse for horses in the Southern Highlands and Wollondilly areas. Horses are maintained on a 4 to 6-week cycle. Horses must be well-handled and stand for the trimmer.
Horses located outside the Southern Highlands start at $65. These runs are now limited and subject to availability and suitability.
Minis and Shetlands start at $55 locally and $60 with travel.
Any larger breed horses are subject to conditions and start at $90 in the Southern Highlands and $100 with travel. Please reach out to us for more information.
TBCS will service the Southern Highlands and Wollondilly as local Barefoot Specialists and welcome new clients from January 2026.
Handling and Training
We are happy to catch your horses if you are unavailable on the day. The fee for catching is $5 per horse or $30 per property when there are more than 4 horses (maximum of 8). Alternatively, hard-to-catch horses can be yarded if not easily caught in an open paddock.
Training for trimming is available subject to availability and starts at $50 per half hour. We also have trainers we recommend for those horses who need a little more.
About Us
Loretta Frino began her trimming career in 2015. After completing her certification with ACEHP in 2016 she has continued to explore the world of equine hoof care, attending workshops with stellar practitioners Peter Ramey, Sharon May-Davis, Daisy Bicking, Professor Chris Pollitt, Professor Neal Valk, Carol Layton, Tanja Mitton and Adam Sutton. Combining whole horse knowledge and a passion for holistic hoof care she has forged a successful career working with a team of like-minded individuals and collaborating with some of Australia's most progressive hoof care practitioners.
Zeke Frino made a huge leap into hoof care after deciding to follow in Loretta's footsteps in early 2024. His kind, "no agenda" approach to horses has made him a gentle and calming trimmer with an aptitude for knowledge retention and a quick master of the trade. Zeke has attended workshops with Wild About Hooves and Firenza Park Equine Services. In February 2025 he attended the Australian Certified Equine Hoofcare Practioner training in Deloraine, Tasmania. Lectures with Professor Chris Pollitt, Professor Neal Valk, Carol Layton and first-class mentoring have seen Zeke return with the confidence and ability to be the primary trimmer for the business. Ongoing consultation with peers and Loretta ensures each client receives quality care and advice for their horse.
Testimonials
"First time Zeke took his trimming tools to my horses feet yesterday. Now of course a great job was done having had the mentorship and guidance of Lorrie for the past couple of years . But what stood out the most was his quiet calm patient demeanour resulting in my usually anxious horse with new people being very relaxed. No small feat especially when said horse has a predisposition to being naturally heightened." - Cecilia - Owner and Trainer of Magik and Rocky - February 2025
